About the role
We have multiple, newly created Asset Performance Engineer roles open, seeking individuals who enjoy doing things differently!
As an Asset Performance Engineer, you will ensure value-driven asset outcomes are achieved for our business and community.
We are looking for engineers that love solving complex problems using data-driven insights, human experience and technical analysis to achieve the outcomes we need.
These roles will report to an Asset Management Chapter Lead located at Southbank, Victoria.

What you will deliver
- Strategic and tactical plans detailing asset performance outcomes and interventions
- Gap analysis between required/actual asset performance
- Decisions/options for cost, risk and performance trade-offs
- Funding justification for asset management strategies, programs and projects
- Present to various forums (as required) on asset management objectives and outcomes
- Manage objectives set at the strategic and tactical levels, and support Network Operations operational objectives, as defined against the AusNet Asset Management Framework
- Optimise outputs by utilising stakeholder feedback mechanisms and a continuous improvement approach
- Analysis and evidence-based decision making to change maintenance, renewals, condition assessment and other works programs
- Develop capability across other asset classes to actively improve risk cost and performance outcomes
- Contribute to positive team culture, agile maturity, asset management maturity, and deliver Asset Management OKRs (objectives & key results) and KPIs
What we like about you
- You have experience working in other industries, utilities or asset owning organisations
- You have a tertiary qualification in Engineering (from various specialisations/disciplines)
- For more senior roles, demonstrated competency in relevant areas, including network assets/systems, or asset management or associated expertise
- Engineering registration (or ability to achieve) under the Victorian Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019
- What you bring outside of engineering skills
- You are curious, engaged in the world around you and want to make a difference in your community
- You thrive in a dynamic and changing environment and are comfortable with ambiguity
- You have emotional intelligence and apply this to how you work with others
- You enjoy working as part of a high-performing team with other smart, diverse, passionate and value-driven individuals
