About the Role:
As the HSEQ Advisor, you will provide end to-end-delivery of HSEQ requirements as they relate to Infrastructure projects via field-based coaching, support and auditing, providing assurance to the team that the delivery partner is operating in line with organisational and regulatory HSEQ requirements.
This role requires visible behavioural safety leadership on site with operational workgroups and supervisors/managers (field-based activities are 60-80% of the role requirement), further providing effective application of HSEQ systems and tools by the delivery partners.
This role is a fixed term contract for 2 years, reporting to the HSEQ Business Partner, with a base location at Southbank, Victoria. We support flexible working practices in a truly hybrid workplace.
What you will deliver:
- Focal point for Delivery Partner requirements, monthly reporting, incident/near miss investigations
- Completion of site-based audits and safety observations/hazard identification, ensuring recordings in incident management system and timely close out and sharing of learnings
- Incident management and investigation, supporting the delivery partner to ensure timely and effective incident response, notification, investigation and reporting
- Identify risk reduction measures and opportunities to improve critical risk controls
- Maintain a sound knowledge and understanding of relevant HSEQ legislation, codes of practice, standards, etc.
What we like about you:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) (minimum requirement)
- Demonstrated experience as a HSEQ professional, preferably working on construction projects and/or within the energy sector e.g., Switchyards, Transmission Lines (with an operational focus)
- Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders to remotely engage and influence
- Ability to provide various types of HSEQ support to multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise accordingly
- Sound knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation
