The Community Activation and Engagement Officer is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of innovative projects across the International Education portfolio, to enhance opportunities and supports to international students who are living, working or studying in the City of Melbourne.
You can bring… (Selection criteria)
- Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
- Tertiary qualifications in social planning, social work, applied social science, community planning, sociology, event management, communications and/or related work experience in related field.
- Sound knowledge of the international education sector and issues affecting international students.
- Experience in the identification, development, implementation and management of projects, events and corporate communications.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong and effective networks and relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, negotiation and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage administrative, financial data and other resource systems.
- High level written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including discretion and judgement in dealing with a complex administrative and political environment.
- Proven ability to effectively lead, manage and support staff, colleagues and volunteers.
