About the team

In 2023, we are establishing a new business within Coles Group responsible for supplying products to business customers. We have signed our first major customer – the current Coles Express business, which we have announced the sale of to our Strategic Partner – Viva Energy and we are preparing for launch. As a result, we seek to employ an experienced Pricing & Forecasting analyst who will help grow our pricing and forecasting capabilities to service current customers and deliver its growth ambitions over coming years.

About the role

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining our cost and pricing models for customers
  • Timely calculation of supplier rebates and allowances as well as the maintenance of important pricing information in systems – Landed Price and all key components of cost
  • Working with closely with our Range, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to provide analytical rigour to discussion with customers and suppliers. You will support building of the pricing solutions for new customers to ensure they are market competitive and profitable
  • Working closely with Coles Advanced Analytics team to ensure the forecasting product is meeting current requirements and is fit for future growth of business
  • Development of reporting systems and use of data to support decision making and to drive improvement opportunities

You will work primarily with the following key internal and external stakeholders:

  • Coles Wholesale Businesses teams (Head, Range, Supply chain, Finance)
  • Coles supply chain and DC finance teams
  • Coles Supermarket pricing team
  • Coles Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable teams
  • Advance Analytics team
  • Other workstream leads during the build-up phase

External:

  • Wholesale Customers – forecasting and analytics
  • 3PL finance and commercial teams
  • Customer’s procurement leads

 

About You and your skills

You possess a curious mind with strong analytical skills. The ability to analyse large amounts of data and establish strong insights to enable high quality decision making. A real interest in understanding how value is created and where profit and growth is driven, you will also have:

  • Ideally 3-4+ years’ experience in a commercial function – e.g. pricing, cost management, finance or category roles, ideally in a B2B / Wholesale environment in Supermarket, Wholesale or Food service industries
  • Experience in building and analysing profitability models, build scenarios and recommend optimum solutions
  • Understand complex and large tenders and providing provide analytical support for response to the tenders
  • Experience in working with customers, especially around pricing and rebates
  • Good understanding of pricing, forecasting systems and analytical solutions
  • Ideally you will have a Bachelors degree in finance/analytics preferred
