As the Business Support Officer, you will provide administrative and client services to support the effective operation of CSIRO Education & Outreach programs. You will operate as part of the Digital Careers team. Digital Careers delivers real world, future-focused education initiatives to help students pursue an exciting digital career. Digital technologies are transforming our workforce, new jobs will be created or reshaped, while other jobs may disappear. Digital Careers supports teachers and encourages students’ understanding of digital technologies and the foundational skills they require in an ever-changing workforce.

 

Your duties will include:

  • Establishing, maintaining and fostering ongoing and culturally respectful relationships with schools, families, communities and stakeholders.
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of digital Careers activities including mentor recruitment and participant projects.
  • Assisting with the development and delivery of support materials and resources for participants.
  • Coordinating the prompt completion of reports, documents and electronic records management.
  • Managing responses to enquiries about Digital Careers programs.
  • Assisting with the coordination of events and activities.

 

Location: All AU CSIRO Sites will be considered

SalaryAU$68,148 – $86,733 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams, and online travel and finance systems. Excellent attention to detail, and experience in creating and maintaining systems and data.
  • Experience conveying information and ideas and establish effective interpersonal relationships with a wide variety of clients both internal, external and on-line.
  • Proven experience to professionally handle sensitive and confidential information and use appropriate judgment and discretion.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise demands and escalate issues when required.
  • Effective communication skills in multiple forms including email, telephone, face to face, on-line with sound writing skills.
  • Verified commitment to providing excellent customer service/support to both internal and external clients and in an on-line environment with the ability to recognise opportunities and recommend solutions.

Eligibility

Applications for this position are open to Australian/New Zealand Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents or you must either hold, or be able to obtain, a valid working visa for the duration of the specified term. Appointment to this role is subject to provision of a national police check.

This role has child safety obligations. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to obtain or provide evidence that they hold a working with children check prior to confirmation of appointment.

The position also requires a full driver’s licence as there is required travel from time to time and the ability and willingness to travel regionally and interstate as required.

The successful candidate will be required to provide contact details of at least one Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to be a cultural referee to confirm their ability to work and communication respectfully with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
