As the Education Project Officer within CSIRO Education and Outreach, you will focus on delivering and growing the STEM CPP, a program under the Generation STEM initiative. This is a rewarding opportunity as you will be responsible for training and supporting teachers, as well as increasing the number of school and industry participants in the program.
This is a diverse role that will see you working on various projects, including, but not limited to, the development, facilitation and delivery of a range of workshops and activities for teachers and students; and events to promote and support industry professionals, teachers and organisations involved in the program.
You’ll be joining a dedicated and supportive team and be provided with opportunities for personal and professional learning and growth!
Your duties will include:
- Delivering Generation STEM’s activities in close collaboration with internal and external program teams.
- Proactively engaging with relevant schools, industry and other organisations to enable them to join the program.
- Building strong relationships with participating schools, businesses and Councils and providing them with the support they need to participate effectively.
- Developing and implementing face to face and virtual training workshops including teacher professional development on inquiry-based learning.
- In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, developing and coordinating activities for students, including showcase events, site visits, careers events and work experience.
- Managing workload and competing priorities to ensure program outputs are delivered on time.
Location: The preferred candidate will be required to be based in NSW
Salary: AU$89,680 – $101,459 plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Specified term until 31 December 2023 (likely to be extended)

To be considered you will need:
- To be willing and able to travel locally and within New South Wales.
- A qualification in education, STEM, project management or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Experience with the facilitation of training for teachers, especially inquiry based learning, coupled with an understanding of how to align the training to the Australian Curriculum.
- Highly developed stakeholder management and interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain strong and productive relationships and networks with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project coordination skills and experience in managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines, as well as the ability to demonstrate initiative, self-motivation and flexibility.
- High level problem solving and judgment skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and manage risks and to develop evidenced-based appropriate solutions.

Eligibility
Applications for this position are open to Australian/New Zealand Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents. Appointment to this role is subject to provision of a national police check and will be required to obtain or provide evidence that they hold a working with children check prior to confirmation of appointment.
The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel locally and within New South Wales.
