Do you take pride in your organisational and administration skills? CSIRO Manufacturing Business Unit has an exciting ongoing opportunity for a Student Coordinator to join their team!

CSIRO values partnering with universities and industry to grow a pipeline of world-leading talent working in the field of science. In line with that, CSIRO Manufacturing runs a variety of student engagement programs including high-school work experience, domestic and international undergraduate internships, working with universities and industry to co-fund scholarships for Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) projects, and Postdoctoral Fellowships, using a work-integrated learning approach. Students participating in these programs get the opportunity to work on industry-led research projects and/or placements to build job-ready skills, in addition to completing a formal qualification where relevant. Industry partners, on the other hand, are provided with short-term access to budding high-end talent.

As the Student Coordinator, you will have a diverse and key role within the team to manage the smooth operation of the student programs. You will engage with various internal & external stakeholders to manage the administrative, communication, coordination and planning activities of these programs, and ensure compliance requirements are met.

Your duties will include:

 

•    Undertaking end to end administrative processes with respect to student engagement, onboarding, liaising with CSIRO supervisors and contracts administrators, and monitoring satisfactory progress, in collaboration with university and industry partners as required.
•    Working with the Science Director to monitor and continuously improve all aspects of student engagement programs in the Manufacturing Business Unit.
•    Liaising with university partners, students and CSIRO staff to anticipate their needs, ensuring the relevance of the activity and achievement of team objectives, taking personal responsibility for guaranteeing stakeholder satisfaction, and addressing problems promptly and in a constructive manner.
•    Providing a discrete support service, and participating in the planning of activities, frequently encountering ambiguity and showing initiative in interpreting policies and procedures.
•    Using discipline expertise develop and review policies, procedures, systems and make recommendations to guide management decisions.

Location: Sydney, NSW or Melbourne, VIC

Salary: AU$89K – AU$101K pa + up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

 

•    Relevant trade certificate/diploma/bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with minimum 2 years work experience in operations, customer service, project management, research or education related fields.
•    Excellent record-keeping skills, office organizational skills, and computer literacy necessary for entering and maintaining informational data, creating schedules, and ability to maintain detailed, accurate, and complete records of student activities and confidential records.
•    Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
•    Demonstrated ability to identify and analyse complex or ill-defined problems and develop and deliver appropriate alternative solutions.
•    Flexibility, initiative and agility to manage multiple priorities and support various staff needs and student events.

Eligibility

Appointment to this role is subject to provision of a national police check and may be subject to other security/medical/character requirements.
