The Employee Communications & Events team partners with the Optus Australia business, our CEO and ExCo. We work up, down and across the business. We’re responsible for sharing our business strategy, helping our amazing people understand the role they play and bringing it to life.

The role

We’re on the lookout for a Senior Employee Communications Manager. If you’re a communications professional who is passionate about strategic storytelling and best-practice communications that motivate people to action, loves a challenge and enjoys a fast-paced team environment we want to hear from you.

Your core duties –

  • Supporting the Executive Committee (ExCo) members such as Managing Directors / Vice Presidents and their senior leadership teams;
  • Developing creative communications strategies that help our people understand why they’re here and what we need them to do;
  • Communicating the Optus Purpose, Vison and Strategy to all staff, plus support critical initiatives and embedding Optus behaviours;
  • Working with teams across the business to develop plans and initiatives that support our business strategy and demonstrate how we’re supporting our customers, community and each other;
  • Communicating wins, achievements and project breakthroughs from the business units with the wider Optus audience;
  • Creating compelling, easy to understand messaging to support business and employee experience objectives;
  • Delivering outstanding communications across our enterprise social (Yammer), and broadcast (email) and face-to-face channels;
  • Tracking the effectiveness of our communications campaigns and continuing to make them better; &
  • Sharing know-how with the Corporate Communications team and working with the Human Resources Business Partners to drive engagement, share updates on engagement initiatives and development capabilities for our amazing people.

 

Tertiary qualified in a relevant business field (in-house or agency), you will have significant corporate experience working across a range of internal communications channels, including streamed events, corporate videos, corporate intranets, enterprise social media and more traditional written mediums.

Importantly, you will have exceptional stakeholder management expertise at all levels of business.
